Made in Germany is a compilation of the band's greatest hits. The single disc set features 16 songs. Review: A great CD with all the hits - Made in Germany is the 2011 release from German band Rammstein. While it is hard to believe the band has been cranking out solid rock music since 1995, the fact is this CD covers a great deal of their more mainstream songs. Sure, their is some better songs not included on this CD. But for the most part, there is a little something for everyone. From their break out hit "Du Hast" to the most current hit "Mein Land", there is just about every style of music thrown together. Whether it's the creepy tale of a cannibal butcher in "Mein Teil" or the dance/club-style music of "P***y", this CD has it all. And when you have had enough of their unique rock style as heard in "Ich Will" and "Links 2-3-4", simply move over to tracks "Angel" and "Rosenrot" for a much softer sound. And then if you still feel the need for even more easy listening, "Ohne Dich" sounds almost like a ballad and trust me, it isn't what you expect coming from a band like Rammstein. And if you want your very own "Wizard of Oz-Dark Side of the Moon" moment, play the CD in order as they were recorded and released. You can almost hear the band changing their sound from early industrial rockers to a more modern rock sound and Till aging through the years. But be warned hardcore Rammstein fans; if you are looking for a definitive collection of their works, you would probably be better off just throwing the cash down to buy every CD made so you have all the little hidden nuggets of less mainstream songs. But, if you don't want to haul around a load of CD's or are not a die-hard fan, this compilation is for you. But even then, you may pick-up every CD made after listening to this just so you can hear every song. Altogether, there is 16 songs on the CD and for the first time in a long time from a band, there really isn't a bad song. There is only one new song (Mein Land) included but that's alright....that song is actually good enough for two songs. The case is a nifty card board box with a death mask of each band member. And it includes a little booklet with the lyrics (in German of course but simply Google the translated lyrics to get a full meaning of a particular song). I would give the CD a 9 out of 10 (they really could of done a double disk CD to be sure they had every song but then again, it was probably because Universal screwed up) or 4.5 out 5 stars. Well worth the price of admission into the brain and heart of Germany's best rock export (after Falco of course!). Review: Rammstein's Made in Germany is excellent for new fans!! - Let me start of by saying that I only got into Rammstein within the last year or so, at least heavily, so as a new fan to Rammstein I think that the Made in Germany cd is incredible!! It features 16 tracks: Engel, Links 2 3 4, Keine Lust, Mein Teil, Du Hast, Du Riechst So Gut, Ich Will, Mein Herz Brennt, Mutter, Pussy, Rosenrot, Haifisch, Amerika, Sonne, Ohne Dich and Mein Land (which is a brand new song, which is excellent). This cd also comes with a booklet that includes lyrics for all the songs, in German of course, and trust me it is worth learning the German lyrics before you look up the translations, the songs are much more intense in their native German! Rammstein has such a unique sound, like no other band I have heard, a lot of their songs sound like a mix between industrial metal, and classical music, with a huge dose of German ingenuity! The packaging of the album is great as well! The album cover/ foldout of the album (as well as the booklet that comes with the cd) feautures all 6 members of the band ( Till Lindemann, Richard Kruspe, Paul Landers, Oliver Riedel, Christoph Schneider and Christian Lorenz) , but their faces are shown using a life-mask ( a mold of the face that is done while a person is still living, as opposed to a death-mask) . I believe that each album cover is different, so a different band member may appear on various covers, which means that there are 6 different covers available. Made in Germany by Rammstein is a great album for new fans, as it gives you some of their best songs from the time the band released their first album in 1995, through 2011.
