Review: Nice disposer! good value but - Removed a 1/2 hp waste king and installed this one. It contained most everything needed for the install. I have used them all. Most are made by Emerson Motor Corperation and resemble ISE In-Sink-erator. These resembles GE Is it made by GE Im not sure. It was years ago. The installation was simple. My recomendtion is to use Plumbers Putty arount the sink flange. My experience with the INCLUDED rubber gasket is, the oils from the food attacks it and it swells. The rubber doesent have muct to seal on with a porcelin sink (like mine). The putty will last for many many years,and has always been used by the pros. less than $3.00 a tub normally. Be sure the flange it tightened fully. Perhaps recleck its tightness after a few days to be sure. Dont go crqazy just until it stops turning against the sink and and a bit beyond snug. its plactic remember. plug it in and go. This machine really spins up fast and will emulsify nicely. This unit uses a steel grinding element. It appears to be stainless. However says steel. For this reason and this reason only, My recommendation is to use the 1/2 hp unit. The stainless will resist the rusting inside of the unit. It is ony a few dollars more. Most of this unit is plastic. Dont be afraid of this as its been plastic for many decades and is good. The ISE units are White Metal (aluminum ish stuff) and does corrode eventually. The 1/2 hp unit that came out was around 6 years old. I anticipate this will last around 4-5. 6/14/2025 I have to laugh at the level of detail that some buyers put in there reviews .Its Amazing and thankss everyone that did. This information is most important to some. Especially since there are so many vaiations of homes and sinks. That being said, My 1/3 hp unit is still running well however my next one will probably be the 1/2 HP unit. I just feel for the extra money ist best to stay with the same thing thats proven itself. Also it had more sound insulation is appears.

One of the big box home improvement stores had this model Waste King as it's lowest-priced offering in the garbage disposal category. Thing is...it was cheapest and still had an almost perfect review rating on a sizable number of reviews. That got me to digging around and the praise for Waste King's products was both effusive (folks just raved about their products) and that praise was universal (meaning the opinion was shared by both consumer and professional alike). **Q: Has any one had problems with the "easy mount" on a SS sink? The cushion mount slipped out of the mount ring on the second day.Is vibration a problem?**
A: The Easy Mount doesn't seal well on a SS sink.  I've had a plumber out a couple of times to remedy the sink seal.  Last fix was a couple of years ago and we just discovered it's leaking again.

**Q: What does "lifetime" mean.  If I am 25 and it konks out when I am 50, what do I get?  Is it pro-rated?**
A: This is the best. I bought mine in 2013 (5 years ago) and its worked perfectly, until a couple of days ago, it would not start. Power to GFCI plug on, reset button tripped. When I reset the button, it came on about 1/2 second and stopped. Troubleshooting indicates the brushes on the electromagnetic motor need replacement. I called Anaheim customer service (the company that manufactures Waste King and all they needed was the original purchase date, my name, and the serial number from the unit. A brand new replacement unit should arrive in a couple of days. Zero charge for the unit or shipping fee.
They offered to have a plumber come install it too, also no charge, however, since I’m pretty handy, I don’t need that. The total time on the call to resolve the warranty replacement was about 15 minutes, due to an approximate 3 minute wait time to speak to the representative.  All is needed to complete the warranty process is the serial number tag from the existing unit and the serial number from the new one, mailed back in to Anaheim Manufacturing.  Easy peasy!! Great service and they stand behind the lifetime warranty!

**Q: I need to replace an insinkerator badger 5. would this be able to b installed easily where the old one was w/o having to reinstall the drain partstall**
A: Won't fit your existing badger drain flange (same system used by most brands). You will have to remove yours and replace it with the included Waste King drain flange in order to mount the new unit.

**Q: I am looking for a unit that will be direct wired (no outlet).  Will this unit work?**
A: I direct wired it but it wasn't easy to remove the plug. I ended up having to cut the cord and mutilate the grommet the cord went through in order to get it out. In my opinion if there's one without a cord that's a few dollars more I'd buy that one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Much cheaper, lighter and slimmer, and Easier to install

I had a Badger, or Ace equivalent that got jammed. I took it apart to clear the jam and when I put it back together, it leaked. Even after I took it back off and put it together again. It was so much trouble getting it lined up and together correctly, especially since I have a tight space and no wiggle room for the drain connector, and my other drain pipes are for some reason, glued together. I was not looking forward to doing this a third time when I found this Waste King on Amazon. It is about half the cost of a replacement Badger, lighter, slimmer, and has a cord already attached. I took the old one out, studied the new one and looked over the instructions. It is logical and easy to follow. I have a composite sink, and my plumber's putty was dried out, so I used silicone to seal the drain ring, as many people seem to be doing nowadays. It all went together easily, much easier than the old Badger 3-ring style, and locked into place. It lined up exactly with my drain line and dishwasher hose and works perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars is that it has no place for a hex wrench to clear clogs. You have to go in through the top, but at least the splash guard is removable, so it's not too difficult. Also, you can purchase a tool that goes in through the top at Home Depot that has a handle you can turn, so there's no need to use a wooden dowel. The hex hole would have been an easy inclusion, and I have no idea why they left it off.
