It creates a 7-foot softbox. But when you fire your strobe there will be a hotspot where the strobe fires though. Comes out hot in the center. Just though maybe I could use my long-throw reflectors on my White Lightnings, and maybe that would get rid of the hotspot. Botton line is that it's brilliant to have this cover, because without it, you still get harshness reflecting off the inside of umbrella. With it, everything is softer. One thing I got using it was much more magenta in my portraits.
