Earth Day purchase!
For Earth Day this year, I thought it would be a good idea to find an Eco Friendly straw that could be stored in my glove compartment and used for my Large and X-tra Large Drive Thru Ice Teas! Really, I don't need plastic straws for an iced drink that I'm going to drink as I drive. Got the straws today - long enough, sturdy enough for the purpose - I'm super happy with the purchase. Now I can say "no" to just that one part of the plastic problem! Most of the paper straws were too short for a Starbucks Trente - this one is definitely long enough. And they are individually wrapped so they can be tossed into the glove compartment without any issues.

Absolutely fantastic!
We bought these to take with us on a Carnival Cruise. As of January, 2020, Carnival no longer has plastic straws, or toothpicks. They only give out edible candy straws, and normally only for frozen drinks.I wanted to get straws that were big enough to handle the frozen drinks (diameter), long enough to stick out the tall fancy glasses, and durable enough to hold up.These fit the bill PERFECTLY!First, the diameter. I don't think these are big enough for boba drinks, with their little tapioca balls. However, they're plenty big enough to suck up the most demanding frozen drink or shake. The edible candy straws provided on the ship would get stuck with an pebble-sized ice piece. Not these!Second, at 10 inches, these are plenty long enough, but not TOO long. I really love the big, fat, red straws provided at convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Terrible Herbst, or even Arco AM/PM (though there's are blue). These match up well, though not quite as long, and the diameter is a touch bigger. Finally, the durability. To experiment, at home, I took out a can of Code Red Mountain Dew. I took a few sips. Tasted great. Yes, I got a slight paper taste initially, but that very quickly went away. I was able to sip or chug away at the can of soda with ease. Tasted great. THEN, I left the straw in the half-full can of soda for thirty minutes! Afterwards, I pulled the straw out. Seemed totally normal. No staining even! I tried it. Still worked great! Wasn't even soggy! I finished the soda, took the straw out, and set it aside. The next morning, I got the same straw and went to use it yet again. It STILL HELD UP!We went on the cruise in total pride and satisfaction. The straws worked well over and over again. We didn't worry if we left it in a drink (like we would with metal straws). We used them for piña coladas, bloody marys, daiquiris, and more. At night, if we had a drink in our room, we would take the straw out. It would dry overnight and be ready to use again in the morning! These straws are top-notch and I cannot recommend them enough. FanTAStic!

Giant Compostable Straw
I have been searching for eco-friendly straws for smooothies. These straws appear to be very sturdy and recommended for drinks 50 degrees and below. Unfortunately, they do not hold up for even a few minutes for drinking smoothies and shakes. I had hoped these would be a great alternative to plastic.

Worth saving the environment.
When I don’t have my Yeti and need a straw at Starbucks. Work great for my iced tee.

Good length
Straw great size for drinking smoothies out of 26/28 oz (tall) blender bottle, however sipping tip gets moist and mushy too quickly, then collapses

Love the concept, but impractical
I was trying to go green and help the environment by purchasing paper straws, however these straws were a complete waste of money and I polluted the environment anyway. I threw them all away because the straws completely became soggy after sitting in a glass of water for a few minutes.

Great eco-friendly option
Love these. Better option than plastic straws. Keep them in my car to use for iced coffees, easy since they are individually wrapped.
