SorelWomen's Winter Carnival Waterproof Boot for Winter

Best boots!
I've lived in northern Illinois my whole life and I've never had a pair of Sorels, but after my first winter on my own on a college campus, I decided to invest and buy some quality winter snow boots, and let me tell you - Sorels are the way to go. If you're shopping for the perfect warm, waterproof boot, this is it!These boots are wildly warm and comfortable. They run large (I went down a half size, but I should have gone down a full size), so I wear two pairs of socks, or one pair of thick socks. They are large and clunky, there's no doubt about it, but they provide coverage that is worth having big feet. I didn't really like the white fluff that comes on top of the liner, so I just cut it off and it looks fine. They're not exceedingly fashionable, but there's this sense of luxury when you're wearing them because you know it's worth it and they're rather expensive.Because I got a size that was too large, the back of my ankles got a little blistered when they rubbed up against the back of the boot. The liners in the boot are essential - without them the boot is basically a massive, rubber shell. The liners, for me, got beat up quickly. I reckon that each winter season every year you'll need to get a new, thick boot liner. These boots are totally waterproof, so you can wear them as rainboots in late fall/early spring. I would recommend buying proper rainboots for summer, though - Sorel is too heavy and warm for summer showers. These boots - minus liners - will last you forever. I know adults who have had this brand of boot since they were in their mid-twenties and they still have them and use them. Totally worth the investment. If you shop around on eBay or other resale sites, you could definitely find them for cheaper, but Amazon offers quick shipping with a brand new set of boots.

Great so far! Will update as the winter progresses.
These boots are so cute and comfortable! I just purchased the pewter boots in a size 8.5, which is my normal size. They are roomy in the toes, which is perfect for layering socks and boot socks when it gets really cold. They adjust around the ankle with the strings, and the fur on top keeps any chaffing from happening--definitely makes them very comfortable. They keep your feet warm in -25 degree weather, and I'm hoping these will keep my toes toasty this winter in Chicago, which is supposed to be terrible. I'll post an update as it gets colder and snowy!**UPDATE**We just had our first big snow in Chicago (7 inches), and these boots are phenomenal! I can wear just regular running socks and my feet are so warm, it doesn't even feel like I'm outside. I even stood in the 7 inches of snow for an extended period of time playing with my greyhound, and never felt the cold through the shoes. They wiped clean and I was able to kick the snow off easily with no tracking in our condo building. The laces are easy to use, even with gloves on (not too short to use with thick gloves), and they dry quickly as well. The fur on top never got wet, and repelled the water well. And I have no signs of scuffing around the boot either. They are perfect!**UPDATE #2**Today in Chicago we had a windchill of -11. I did wear two pairs of socks and only after an hour of walking downtown did my toes start to feel cold. However, I outlasted my friends! Best boots and still 100% satisfied.

Comfortable....so far.
There is no boot that keeps my feet warm in the snow. I've got so many that I've tried, including the Sorel brand. The old ones I have from the 90s were the only ones that kept me warm but, they're so big they're kind of dangerous to drive in.I was looking for a warm boot that wasn't so huge/wide/heavy. These are a little more narrower and lighter weight so I don't think I'll have a problem driving with them. I haven't tried yet but, I'll update here when I do if I have a problem.I have not worn them at my snowy mountain home yet but, I have in rainy chilly weather. They are comfortable enough and warm with the right socks.I ordered a 1/2 size up due to the reviews. I have some really thick socks so that helped with the extra room.I hope the reviews about the warmth is true because I hate my feet being cold. That's what sold me on these boots. My other current smaller sorels do not keep my feet warm at all. In fact my feet were in pain from being so cold I won't wear them again in snowy weather. I'll turn those into muck boots.

Everything you need in a winter boot! (With one downside.)
The Sorel Women's Winter Carnival Waterproof Boots (Black/Stone) are some of the best boots I have ever owned.Let me start with the positives:Warmth: These boots are super warm and cozy! I live in a really cold area (sometimes -20 F) and my feet stay toasty warm all day long when I’m outside. On very cold days you can start feeling it in the toes somewhat because of the rubber, but they primarily keep me comfortable.Waterproof: These boots are great at keeping my feet dry. I've walked through puddles, snow and slush and my feet have stayed dry. Keeping your feet dry during outdoor activities when it’s below freezing is paramount, and these boots do a great job of that.Comfort: The boots are really comfortable, even after wearing them for a whole day. The footbed is really supportive and the boots don't rub or cause any blisters.Style: The Black/Stone color combo is perfect for me. I love the classic look and it goes with everything in my wardrobe. Plus, the faux fur trim is a really nice touch. The one thing I don’t like about the style is the laces don’t go all the way to the top, so the faux fur trim doesn’t pull snug into my legs. Now, let's talk about the one negative:Heavy: These boots are quite heavy. While I understand that the materials used to make the boots are what make them so warm and waterproof, they can be a bit of a hassle to wear if you're doing a lot of walking or standing. The best word I can use is “clunky”.Overall, I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone who is looking for a stylish and functional winter boot. They're warm, waterproof, comfortable, and stylish. The only downside is that they are a bit on the heavy side. But in my opinion, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

I like these boots
So I read through the reviews and many people said these fit large so I ordered my regular size 8. I would say overall they fit relatively true to size. The width is comfortable, even for wide feet like I have, however the length feels a bit short. It may just be the style, and it's more noticeable due to the rubber bottom half of the boot being a bit stiff. Edit- the length is normal, it is just from the way the rubber bottom part is designed. It is not uncomfortable at all.Either way, I ordered a half size up and will edit this review to reflect whether or not it makes a difference.Aside from that these are very nice boots! They look so nice, and with the flip-flopping weather where I live the ground d is constantly covered in slush, so I'm looking forward to having dry, warm feet on my walks to and from work!EDITOk I got the 1/2 size larger and they were too large and felt loose on my feet. They appear to fit true to size and the length is fine, it's just the way the rubber bottom half is designed. The width is nice as well, lots of room around the toe box for thicker socks. And it snowed and rained all day today, so it was the perfect day to test them... my feet stayed super warm and dry, and they seem to have pretty good traction. The only dislike is the leather strip that runs down the back of the boot from the top to the rubber bottom half. It is a bit stiff and uncomfortable on the back of the ankle/achilles tendon area, but I'm sure it will just take a few wears to soften up and mold to my foot.I would definitely recommend these boots for cold snowy winter weather!

Waterproof indeed and cleans easy
I ordered a size 12 and they fit beautifully. I’m a plus size gal too and they actually make my legs look really lovely, haha! I’ve been outside in dry, mild weather and didn’t feel overheated and in cold winds and slush and snow and I don’t come in wet or cold. They’re absolutely worth it and I hope to have them for a few years.
