LOVE IT! Not pin straight but silky smooth
Been using this for a few years now and I still love it as much as I did the first time I reviewed it. My hair loves shea so the lie I tell myself is that it's better for my hair. Rinses out beautifully. No burning. No breakage. If hair typing is still a thing these days, and for those curious I'm a POC with 2a lazy S (beachy) waves and it doesn't loosen them! I like that it doesn't make my hair pin straight but enhances how my waves respond when I wear it natural. Roots and babyhairs are laid and silky soft. I've perfected my process and have had much better results than when I first started using it.

Follow the instructions
I love this stuff. I follow the instructions and it works very well for my hair. I don’t know/understand the number/letter system for hair to describe mine. If this is new to you, find a Dominican salon or European salon that uses this and have them do it for you. The results leave my hair straight/wavy. I do not have a problem with breakage. I sometimes do it at home or go to a salon. Results are the same for me. I do not use no-lye because It causes my hair to shed and it is very dry. This works well for me. I have tried Mizani and others. Nothing compares. I go anywhere between 6 weeks to 4-6 months. When my hair is longer, I can extend times for touch ups. Or perhaps, I tolerate my new growth well. Anyhow, I have been using this product for almost a decade. Each time I use something else, I always come back. If it does not work for you, good luck find something that does. For now, I hope alter ego/linange maintain this formula and product line for those of us who love it and go through great lengths to find it.

Great Gentle Product
I cut my hair after growing for the last one and half years and I cut my hair super short about 2 months ago. I typically wash my hair one to two times a week just to change up my hair style from curly to straight or vice versa. (I am african american with a splash of american indian, white and german which makes my hair type sort of wierd.) In the past, relaxers do no last. I have used Just for Me, Olive Oil and Dr. Miracles. All have worked but only for a little while esepcially when I wear my hair short. I have been looking for a way to maintain my curly, wavy and thick at the root hair without damaging it allowing me to either wear my hair sraight or right my curls without any frizz. This product does just that. I tried it on Saturday was impressed with the products gentleness. It doesn't have a harsh smell and it did not burn during application. I like the fact that it still allows me to have the option of wearing my hair curly or straight and not just bone straight. Great product for anyone with my hair type... Worth having in supply of beauty products!!! Will definitely buy again. Thanks.

Very Gentle and Non-Damaging
I have type 3B curls (mixed race) and applied this to virgin hair for about 20 minutes, my goal was to achieve wavy-straight but it merely softned my curls and after a couple shampoos my curls looked almost the same as before, but a bit more manageable. Since I found the process simple and relatively pleasant (no smell, except the Linange neutralizing conditioner...) and it did not seem to damage my hair, I decided to give it another go for 15 minutes and did my whole again a couple weeks later. Once again, it looks very straight right after the process but a few washes later and my curls are back! But not as strong as before. What I'm starting to realize is that this stuff probably won't get your hair pin-straight, or even wavy-straight unless you leave it in for a looong time. Giving four stars though because on the upside this stuff hasn't dried out or damaged my hair at all and doesn't smell or burn badly. (Though to be fair I did not apply it to my scalp and roots at all, it only touched my ear a little.) I recommend this product if you want to see how you look relaxed but don't want to make the jump to a more harsh relaxer.

I love this relaxer!!
I was trying to choose between the relaxer and Mizani ButterBlends to texlax (texturize) my hair. It left my hair very underprocessed even though I did a lot of smoothing and left it on for like 30 minutes (I have type 4a hair). However, that was the look I was going for. If you are trying to get a bone straight look, it's not going to happen with this relaxer, because it is very mild. After the relaxer my hair felt strong and soft. It didn't have the limp, "just relaxed" look. I relaxed 12 weeks ago, and I still haven't had any breakage. I didn't use the Linange neutralizing conditioner (I just used my normal neutralizing shampoo), but I will next time so I can see if the results are any different. I seriously had very little burning with this relaxer. It only started to burn at the end of the 30 minutes, and by that time I was ready to wash it out anyway. I recommend this relaxer for anyone trying to texlax (or texturize) their hair.

It was just okay...
I tried this relaxer along with the neutralizer and mask. It was just okay for me. The smell of the relaxer cream was much milder than others I have used in the past. The cream is pretty thick. It did start to burn towards the last 5 minutes and I left it on for 18 minutes. (I base my scalp well every relaxer and I hadn't scratched) My hair was not bone straight when I got done, it was straight, but with a little texture. So ladies wanting that texlaxed look may like this relaxer. After a few days, the newly relaxed hair felt kinda dry and so I had to revive it with my old faithful Mizani conditoner. The mask that comes with this did nothing for my hair. I think I will go back to Mizani after this one.
