I bought my frame back in 2012 when I became fortunate enough to get a teleworking job and needed to build a proper home office. I topped it with a basic Ikea tabletop that I already had in the garage, and it has worked absolutely flawlessly for almost 5 years now.Heavy-duty, and very well-made. The crank is very easy to turn, and you can go from sitting height to standing height in about 8 seconds. I had mine loaded up with roughly 100lbs of computer stuff, and had no issues with raising/lowering, nor any issues with stability:- 27" iMac- Modem and router- Logitech computer speaker system (2 speakers + subwoofer)- HP printer- Telephone- Misc office suppliesAssembly required a bit of skill, but wasn't difficult for me since I'm "mechanically inclined." It's a bit more difficult than... say... assembling an Ikea desk. So, if you're not naturally good at this sort of thing (or just don't like it), recruit a friend who is. It's also helpful to have another person around simply to help hold things, but it's not 100% necessary. I was able to assemble this by myself without too much difficulty.Great customer service too. The company actually reached out to me after my order to let me know that their warehouse is here in Phoenix--about a 20 min drive from my house. They gave me the option to go pick it up in-person and avoid chipping costs (and waiting time), which was great.Great product. Great company. Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great desk for the price...just one slight criticism *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2014* The build quality of this desk seems to be pretty good (heavy duty parts, proper alignments, etc). The only problem I'm noticing so far is that the desk wobbles slightly when raising or lowering. My only worry with this is that I'd rather not have my computer and external hard drives be shaken. I've noticed that placing a firm pressure with your non cranking hand on the desk, helps stabilize the desk some.If you're considering buying this desk, I'd recommend it for sure. The price can't be beat. I ended up going with the recommendations from other purchasers for the desk top. I found a local company who sells Ikea products, and found me a nice looking, light weight, desk top that I simply screwed on to the ModTable base.Other improvements that could be made by manufacturer:* While the instructions are ok, there are some steps that explain things a bit strangely and confusingly.* The cheap plastic handle works fine, but it's sort of ugly. I'm surprised they didn't include a better looking metal handle. When I started putting it together I got really excited and realized that I had nothing to fear. The craftsmanship is absolutely amazing. It's a bit of a process to put together but nothing that can't be handled comfortably by two people of any size. You can really tell the high quality by how everything comes together just perfectly. The holes, the screws. For anyone that's ever had to put something together, this in comparison is a work of art. And that's just putting it together. Once it's all set up, cranking it up and down is very easy and smooth. It's all incredibly sturdy even with an inexpensive Ikea top on it. Everything from setup to everyday use is so fantastic that I find myself failing at my task to find one thing they could have improved so that this review would seem more balanced.
