Review: Great Headphones, Reasonable Price - It was time. My previous gaming headset was also my first; a pair of wired Turtle Beach headphones that I purchased back in 2010. For you young bloods, that's about the time dinosaurs roamed the Earth. They had been great headphones, helping me slay many a newb. However, by the fall of 2017 they were - quite literally - falling apart. So I began my search for a new set. Like everyone else - I like getting the best bang for my buck, which means that I'm not some brand-loyal fanboi. That being said, I checked out the new turtle beach sets on desertcart first, since I had such a great experience with the previous pair. I started looking at wired sets, but decided that the year 2018 means that I shouldn't have to be tethered to a console or tower anymore. That led me to where you are now. With a 4/5ish stars and my previous experience, I figured that a price tag of $80 was a reasonable gamble. So I bought 'em and patiently waited for them to arrive, like a cheap Terran turtle strategy in the early days of SC2. When they arrived I unboxed them, charged them up, installed the drivers, and took them for a spin. The first thing you need to know is that they are comfortable. When I put them on I barely noticed they were there. The weight distribution and padding make these earphones feel like a ring of clouds gently cradling your cranium. Even after hours-long veg sessions, I experience no discomfort from these bad boys. The next thing you need to know is that they're great headphones. The sound is crisp. Whether you're vibin' out to some dubstep while conquering worlds, or comin' at newbs like a spider monkey all hyped up on Mountain Dew, these headphones do an excellent job of taking you from in front of your gaming rig and transporting you to the digital world. What? Still not sold? Well, how about the fact that you can independently adjust microphone and game/music volume? Or that you can cycle through a few "boost" settings on the fly? Maybe the stupid long battery life will convince you to drop your "hard-earned" lunch money on these beauts. I've gone a full 10 hours without having to charge these things. All of these great things, however, pale in comparison to the best feature of these headphones: They're a fantastic aphrodisiac. When I power these bass cannons up and strap them on, my girl comes walking by and gives me the eye-trucking of a lifetime. She can barely keep her hands off of me. To be honest, I rarely ever actually get around to playing any games anymore, because of all the... distractions... that come with wearing these headphones. When you put on a pair of these 450 headphones, it's like all of a sudden a special magnet has been activated, and women you didn't even know lived around you come knockin' at your door asking about your K/D ratios. Don't believe me? Buy 'em, put 'em on, and check yourself out in the mirror. Make sure to flex at the same time. I can guarantee you if you post that image on your Insta your phone will blow up, kind of like you when I grenade spam you in the last PUBG circle. So, yeah, make your dreams come true my dude. Purchase these headphones and don't look back.
Review: Great as a headset, even better as headphones... - I use these primarily as headphones. Indeed, I have only used the microphone to test Skype with it. Mostly, it just sits on my desk. (If anyone plays Star Trek Online, I'd love some help setting up voice chat with these!) THE GOOD: The bass response is wicked sick! When you've got the channels (such as a DVD or Blu-Ray in Dolby 5.1 or a game in Dolby 7.1), every channel is clear and distinct. Even TV, which comes into my computer as two channels, is amazing. Somehow, the included drivers and control software recognizes it and adds virtual surround. All of the hard-coded EQ settings work well, though I generally leave it in "natural sound" mode. Superhuman hearing mode (set in the audio setting in Windows) is a FPS player's dream, as it enhances frequencies generally used for sounds such as footsteps and latches. Tip: Set a hotkey (I use F4). Mic monitoring, on the few occasions I have plugged the microphone in, is outstanding, with an independent volume control. The construction is very high quality, though the headband is plastic only, with no metal reinforcement. I was a bit wary, but it's certainly better than the PlayStation Gold headset it replaces (the headband of which snapped after about eight months of regular use). The headband is padded, and is quite comfortable, as are the earcups. THE BAD: The headband could be a tiny bit bigger. I have them adjusted all the way out, and the fit still seems a bit snug on the bottom of my ears, as if these were made for someone with a smaller head. The software is part of the device settings for the headset, and is thus not readily available for such things as switching modes. While this is more of an annoyance than a problem, it would be nice to have that particular menu more easily accessible or be able to set up a "mode switch" hotkey. THE UGLY: As the 2.4 GHz band is fairly crowded, there may be some interference, but this is brief due to the channel-hopping scheme used. Also, if the incoming signal is over-amplified (such as my local CW affiliate), loud sounds will be exceedingly distorted. This is most readily encountered when watching Supergirl (Yeah, I'm a geek), but also happens in other shows with loud, low-frequency sounds (such as explosions). When used with an input signal set to prevent clipping, they provide loud, full-spectrum sound with no distortion. CONCLUSION: If Turtle Beach made headPHONES of this quality, I would buy multiple pairs and give them out as gifts. As it is, this is the best wireless headset I have ever owned. EXTRA TIP: While a cable is included that allows one to plug the headset into a smartphone, if you have one that supports audio output via the charging/data port, the transmitter can be used with an On the Go adapter and will provide full surround sound (which the cable does not). Yes, it'll likely run the battery down a bit faster, but the better sound is worth it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the rechargable Lithium battery in the headset be replaced if need be?**
A: Not easily, you'd have to crack it open and likely void your warranty if you needed to replace the battery yourself.

**Q: does this work with wii u**
A: This headset is designed for the PC and would not work properly if it were used with the Wii U.

**Q: Will it still function while being plugged in to charge?**
A: The cable is not very long (27,5 inches, 70 centimeters) so unless you have a PC tower that it´s near, you won´t be able to use it, but the battery last so long, I don´t think you will need it. Just charged when you have had a long playing time. I charged if I have played 8 hours straight, just in case.

**Q: Do these feel nice on someone with a particularly larger head?**
A: I have a larger head I have to extend all of my headsets out to the max these are pretty good, they do put a little pressure on you but I think that's mostly because mine are only a week old but after a while I forget I have them on

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was looking for a good wireless headset that was getting more than just three ...
*by E***C on January 17, 2016*

When I first saw the reviews that this headset was getting, I found it a little hard to believe. I was looking for a good wireless headset that was getting more than just three and a half stars and my research was leading me to headsets that were above the $300 mark. A bit pricey, but I was considering it...until I saw this unit. I was a bit skeptical at first, but, after a few days of use (and I still haven't recharged the battery) I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'll start with the cons: upon first trying it, the headset is a little uncomfortable. The plastic is a little rigid and takes some breaking in, but I'm passed that point and they're feeling really good right now. It doesn't take long to break in, but I know that's a deal breaker for some people. Especially since there are a lot of units that are comfortable from the start. The microphone is really sensitive. I do a lot of conference calling over VoIP and I was receiving a lot of complains over the noises in the background that were getting picked up (This is not a major downfall, but it warrants mentioning). The audio isn't as rich as it is with some other options. The bass is passable, but far from captivating. Also, the unit doesn't isolate you from the noises going on around you. I was previously using a pair of Stealseries Siberia that I feel rank better on overall sound quality and were comfortable right from the start. However, that is a wired headset. My main purpose behind switching was to go wireless. With that said, this is a damn good wireless headset. The pros behind this product is 1: the range on the wireless is awesome. The fact that you're looking at a wireless headset to begin with gives away that you're looking to move around or not have wires cluttering up your work space. This definitely allows for that. I've maintained connectivity while venturing out to the parking lot of my complex and I think that a big plus. Also, while the sound isn't as good as it is on wired units, for a wireless headset the sound is actually amazing. The surround sound feature works really well and offers some surprising immersion with games and does an okay job with music. The presets that are already programmed in are really nice to have, though audiophiles may not get the satisfaction they require. While the plastic is a little rigid and has to be broken in, the quality of it is really nice. Very good aesthetics that I feel are on part with some of the over $300 headsets that I've seen. Overall, with the amount of features that it has, the microphone that picks up everything and its mother, the surround sound (With some adequate bass), the range of the connectivity and the price tag - I love this headset. I would recommend it if you're looking for something that is under $150 but still gives you some auditory satisfaction (for a wireless unit).
