## Description

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast across the globe in their most gravity-defying and emotional adventure yet. Targeted by a cold-blooded black ops assassin with a score to settle (Jason Statham), their only hope is to get behind the wheel again and secure an ingenious prototype tracking device. Facing their greatest threat yet in places as far away as Abu Dhabi and as familiar as the Los Angeles streets they call home, the crew must come together once again as a team, and as a family, to protect their own.Bonus Content: Back to the Starting Line Snatch and Grab Race Wars Making of Fast & Furious Supercharged Ride

Review: Furious 7 far exceeded expectations ... - Best of the fast and furious movies. I have been a fan of fast and furious franchise since the beginning. The stories, action, cast chemistry just unmatchable. There have been some real disappointments along the way such as Tokyo Drift and despite the intense action most recently, I really was not very happy with Fast and Furious 6 either but this one now with 7 more than made up for everything that was weak in some of the earlier films. An incredible 'possible ending' to the franchise while at the same time potentially leaving it open for a possible Fast and Furious 8; though I am in agreement along with most that this would probably be the best point to just go out while on top. Any further movies would have to face the impossible challange of pushing the bar even higher. Of course some of the action in this film was completely over the top just plain crazy and flat out unrealistic if you think about it but it still left you on the edge of your seat both cringing and laughing at the same time, was just fantastic. I am glad they decided to keep Paul's character in this movie verses just flat writing him out. Having completed only initial shooting before he was gone, it would of been much easier to write him out completely for this movie. If someone did not know what had happened, you would not know at least until the end. They did such an incredibly excellent job between the CG, composite footage, and body stand in all used to recreate Paul and fimish out his character with the help of his brothers, just amazing job very well done. Sure, there a few moments where if you knew already, you can tell a bit but if you didn't, I don't think someone would really notice and it was that seamless. The movie was emotional, intense, action packed, intricate plot with more complex levels than some might realize pulling in all the elements which has made this franchise work well while taking everything to a new extreme. Again some parts were over the top unrealistically crazy like the clean over the top tower jumps but it just added to the comedy and great entertainment which is what movies are really about anyway. This is definitely one for the home collection and I will get this as soon as it is available. ADDENDUM: I since received my extended edition Blueray and as expected is a must have for any home collection. As a few have commented they could not see a difference between extended and regular editions, I did a simultaneous play of both side by side and found every edited moment. Little to nothing is added to content but deleted scenes also on the Blueray give you some extra insight there. What is changed is substantial on many of the action shots in most cases adding in extra seconds of footage re-editing and lengthening fight scenes. The initial opening scene at the hospital is lengthened substantially and they worked in Dom's necklace in the extended version. The after funeral car chicken scene is also lengthened as is the Abu Dabhi party cat fight scene. The final Dom battle scene is another one. The first conversation meeting Ramsey is re-edited very subtly and need side by side to notice the difference. The rest is mostly adding seconds extra between cut points in most action scenes. Very well done.
Review: Very good - Furious 7 is definitely a turning point for the Fast & Furious franchise, in large part because of the tragic death of Paul Walker that occurred during the production of the movie. The movie, finally, deals with Han's death in Tokyo Drift, which on film occurred years earlier, but Sung Kang kept appearing in the subsequent movies always hinting that he would get to Tokyo. In this movie, it is revealed that Han was killed by the brother of Own Shaw (Luke Evans), Deckard, played by Jason Statham. The movie is essentially about the team trying to track down Deckard. The movie has the typical over-the-top action that has become the staple of the film series, especially after all the main actors returned to the franchise after Tokyo Drift. There are a lot of tongue-in-cheek absurd moments, like The Rock flexing out of a cast and leaving the hospital to get back into the fight after he is sidelined most of the movie. The movie also introduced the character Mr. Nobody, a covert ops leader played by Kurt Russell, and has a cameo appearance by Rhonda Rousey who is basically in the movie to have a throwdown with Michelle Rodriquez. For those who get the blu-ray set, the movie looks and sounds great in HD. Of course, there are a ton of special effects used throughout the movie, and everything looks wonderful and seamless. There are two versions of the movie, the theatrical and an extended edition that adds about a minute to the theatrical version. It is so inconsequential that it was really not worth making an extended edition. Then, there are about six minutes of deleted scenes, seven making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes that range in length from about six minutes to just over thirty minutes. Then there is a feature on the Race Wars festival, the music video "See You Again" from Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, and a feature on the Fast & Furious-themed ride at Universal. Overall, the movie is good. Probably the last really good movie of the franchise before it got completely ridiculous. I am sure most people know how the movie handled Paul Walker's death in terms of Brian's storyline. I will not spoil it for the handful of people who don't know, but I think it was very well done. The movie is 95% action, 5.9% tongue-in-cheek comedy, and .1% drama. The franchise has found the formula that works for it and stays in that lane. It does not try to be a best-picture candidate, so if that is what you are looking for, this is not it. But if you want to watch a fun action movie with a bunch of car chases and cool stunts, this is a good one.
