I'm not sure what the heat tolerance is on smaller cable shrouds, but I couldn't hold my finger to them for more than a couple of seconds. A fun accessory for the price if you enjoy tinkering and bling. I haven't taken either car driving yet, so I can't speak to the durability. Its a Great up grade at a Great Price and actually a quality product I have used these on several vehicles and they hold up well if applied properly. They got it right with these, you can even custom trim them to the size you need and reconnect them with adapters you can order if needed and switch colors etc, the possibilities are endless. The pictures give you an idea of what the outcome can be on several Traxxas vehicles. If you strategically place them and make sure you clean the surface with alcohol etc well first then upfront were the wires go over protect it with some ShooGoo and use that to tack down the wires in the bucket too your good to go. You only need about a 5 inch strip on the outside edge on each side thats it it might not seem like much but trust me it is.
