Review: Recommended Buy - The pricing for these boots is usually higher than most would like to purchase for boots, but to get boots that are great, you need to pay a little more. Keep in mind that your feet go through a lot of abuse during the day and you need something to stand up to that. A brief summary of the product that I received: As the description says on the Corcoran site and on most desertcart retailer's posts is that the toe cap and counter (heel area) is made of hard leather which is "spit shine-able." I would like to mention that it's exactly that. The rest of the boot is made of "full-grain leather" which makes it not as easy to shine up, but it will make it last longer and scuffs/scratches don't show up as well. The sole of the boot is made by Vibram, which is what most military branches use for the soles of their issued boots. The Vibram sole should last years, with everyday use, before you have to resole it. The sole typically wears out before the rest of the boot so you should be able to take it to a cobbler (or any major shoe store like Red Wing) and have the sole replaced. This boot fits EXACTLY how it should and you should get your feet measured before ordering what you would like. If you're looking to add an aftermarket insole into the boot (i.e. Dr. Scholls) for extra comfort, I recommend going an extra .5 of a size higher because the Corcoran insole is non-removable in this boot. The insole in the boot is great, but having another insole in there makes it better. I, personally, did not need a break-in period with these moots. The leather is soft, yet durable, so a break-in period (where the boots are really stiff and hurt your feet) did not happen. The tongue is made out of a quality, soft leather that is more full-grain than the rest of the boot so it can take the abuse from the laces when lacing and re-lacing the boot. Make sure to fully lace up the boot before you determine if the boot is too big or too small. Once fully laced, it fits differently (like most boots). These are the best boots that I have ever owned and I have owned these and a pair of the historic brown jump boots and both boots lived up to the hipe that Corcoran has had for decades. Looking for a good boot for security, law enforcement, militia, military or dress that will last for years? I highly recommend this boot. Why spend $60 on a boot and need to have it replaced once a year when you can have a boot for this price and not have to replace it for years (even with everyday use? I've owned plenty of different style boots from many different manufacturers and Corcoran always impresses me and is always on the top of my list of boot manufacturers.
Review: Wow. Love 'em! - Site after site has these rated as 5 stars. After a dogged hunt for made in USA boots that looked good, weren't western style and could stand up to the rigors of motorcycling I arrived at these suckers. And how glad I am for that. This review primarily focuses on these boots' performance as a motorcycle boot. I am confident they stand up well under other conditions too, but you can find many of those reviews elsewhere. These are quality inside and out. The stitching is perfect, no frayed anything anywhere. It's gonna hold together. The leather has enough thickness for some warmth and road protection, and the breathability is great for all conditions except rather wet. I applied some waterproofing agent to mine, and so far so good. Without waterproofing agent expect about 30 minutes of semi-wet riding (read: light drizzle) before your feet start to get damp. What I particularly love about these boots are that the leather is just the right thickness. Not too thin as to be flimsy or weak protection, but not too thick to be stiff and unwieldy. I also really dig the grippy soles, I have never had a motorcycle boot that makes me feel as sure-footed at a stoplight as these. Between those soles and the great ankle fit, you're staying put when you need to. Most excellent. Last but not least, they look damn good. I prefer a more modern flatter toe, but you can't beat the classic paratrooper boot look for just raw badass looks. I get compliments 'em all the time. Goes well under or over pants, depending on the look you're going for. If I wasn't riding with 'em all the time, I'd leave the laces a bit undone over the pants, looks good that way too (think early 90's...). I have a blog focusing on made in USA goods, if that interests you: [...] Thanks for reading!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Corcoran lives up to the expectation
*by F***T on September 27, 2014*

I have worn Corcoran XCS-2525 (steel toe) for the past 7 years. New USCG uniform regulations banned steel tow boots, so I made the switch. I ordered the Corcoran 985 (Field Boot with zipper), and was rather disappointed in the design. The 985s arrived with a broken button, and the zippers on both boots looked terrible when standing/walking. The zipper bulged out and chafed through my sock into my skin. I wasn't to comfortable with the quality of the zipper. The zipper felt like re-enforced plastic. I couldn't imagine it lasting more than a few months. So I contacted Corcoran, and they kindly refunded my money with no issue. I decided to go with the Corcoran 1525 (Field Boot, no zipper). I can't say enough about this boot. It is just as sturdy as my old XCS-2525's, and there wasn't much of a break-in process. After two 12 hour watches, they are comfortable, flexible and look great! They fit a little tighter than my 2525's did, but I imagine they'll stretch out a bit more and I don't anticipate it being an issue. Quality of the boot seems solid. Stitching and leather appear to be good quality. Boot is lighter than I expected, probably because it's not steel toe. No complaints with the weight. Overall, solid product.
