My Bichon Frise, Oliver, was very hard to live with before I got this collar. He has a very loud voice and he barked at people and dogs. He also tried to chase cars, which could have gotten him killed. Fortunately the few times when he ran by me and out the door before I could grab him, there were no cars driving by at that moment. After using this collar, he is like a different dog. He won't chase a car and he will stop barking if I tell him to be quiet or I just say, "It's okay." I was hesitant about buying it at first, since I was afraid of hurting him. I found that you can control that by how hard you jerk on the leash. You have to jerk it when he misbehaved--pulling on it will only choke your dog. You need to just jerk it back quickly once to convey the message.
