Ceramic Bisque Nativity to Paint

It was what I thought i was purchasing... as expected. The thing I HATE about it is I ordered this for my grand daughter's birthday 2 weeks prior. The other item I ordered at the same time said it would ship right out and would be there a week prior, and it was. I got a notice that this item was shipped the next day...but i didn't receive it till 1 month later, just as they said if I didn't pay for expedited shipping. I think that's a crock. I would have had that 1 week later just like the other item I purchased from somewhere else, if they had shipped it when I ordered...instead, they pulled it, and held it because i didn't pay for expedited shipping!

I ordered this in early November, planning on getting it before Christmas. It was shipped within a week, but then MIA until January 7. I don't know if I can really be mad that it got lost during the Christmas rush, but I was bummed out that I didn't have it for the holidays. The product is high quality- -exactly what I was looking for, and it was packaged great: nothing broken nor chipped.

A bit let down. Whatever process makes them leaves several prices without proper definition. On my Jesus and Angel you cannot make out the face or hands. Several pieces do not sit properly, the bottoms are uneven. Since it was a gift I’m using clay to see if I can at least get them to stand upright.There is a similar set for $20 (Nantucket). The quality isn’t any better or worse so I think that’s more worth the money. But these are the only 2 I’ve found that allow me to paint my own nativity set.

Some chipping and material used is very thin. Not that impressed with the quality of the figures. I'll be able to fix the chips and found a solution for supporting the thinness of the ceramic, but wouldn't recommend this. The overall design of the figures is fine, but without support, I'd expect the pieces would chip or break with just a little handling. And the effort I'm going to put into painting these would make that all a big waste of time.

Order arrived early and was very pleasantly surprised to see that not one was broken - Wrapped very securely - would order again.UPDATE: Ordered another set and again very pleased. Thinking of ordering another set for my sister for Christmas.

I would definitely recommend this set. For this economical price, the pieces are nice. I received my set packed , obviously, with care and in perfect condition. Now, if I can just paint and finish it as well!

Poor quality - the detail to the figures is blurred if you wanted to use different colors. As it is I will paint it white and hope it doesn't break right away.
