I did play around with the angle settings and found minor differences. The best on my boat was angled forward at the top and backward at the bottom. This setting produced an almost waist high perfect wave on my boat. I tied a piece of paracord to it and attached a bright orange 3x12 fender to it, so that if it does fall off I can find it easily. That sits in the boat and will get pulled over if it detaches. I had no problems though - the suction was great. Absolutely incredible value and a game changed for anyone with an older boat that doesn't have something like this built in.
