I already have it lying around from some shelves I broke down** A: The 4x8 must be cut into 4' section due to how they must sit in as the shelf. If you had a 4x8' sheets, they would need to be cut in-half to make 4x4' sheets. **Q: Can I mount two of them side by side on the same studs?** A: No you can’t get them too close because only one of the ceiling braces can’t hold both units. If you could attach the brace parallel and pick up two studs this may work. Also understand that the screws extend beyond the frames. There would have to be a gap between the units. It’s possible but you need to be creative. Good luck. Think outside the box. **Q: The minimum states 22", but I need it to go 20". Could it it modified to support a shallower shelf? Maybe remove the extensions altogether?** A: Yes but you will need to cut the vertical straps the shelf hangs from yourself. The minimum depth is based on the length of the vertical steel straps out of the box. You will need a hacksaw or saws-all.
