I didnt know and got regular ones in & i almost had a fire! Lights & cord got extremely hot. Put in for return & said what happened & they sent me LED. My don uses them nightly on his walks at our summer home. **Q: How long is a single strand of these (from plug end to plug end)?** A: It's about 10 ft long with the first light about 30 inches from the plug **Q: Is there plug at both ends of this string of guitar lights? They are really cool and give off a neat glow. The only negative I would say is that they do not allow for plugging in to each other.
