The rest of the day, my daughter and I took turns cranking out rings of various sizes with no issues. I learned that when using the stretcher, it's best not to try to go full swing with the lever but stop at vertical, pull it back, turn the ring 1/4 turn and repeat (otherwise mine tends to bind up when the lever is pushed past vertical).
