When my dog was attacked by 2 other dogs, she had emergency surgery to repair her leg that was torn. It resulted in a 8 inch incision that was stapled shut. I used the iodine swabs on her incision to keep it clean and free of germs. Her vet loved the idea and said it worked great. He would recommend it to his other patients, too. I've also gifted some to friends with little kids as they can't afford to get sick from ill co-workers either. Iodine is great for all sorts of things...scrapes, cuts, bug bites, spider bites, yeast, ostomy skin breakdown, etc. But I found iodine to be super messy and difficult to work with. These sticks make it super easy. The iodine only goes where you rub it on. It doesn't drip at all. We've even used them on our dogs. I think this should be in everyone's first aid kit!
