Men's Flex Fleece Long Sleeve Zip Hoodie

This hoodie is really 2 different hoodies and Amazon should make that more clear because the quality and fit are way different between the two.If you search the American Apparel website:1) One is the f497, which is made in the U.S. and 2) the other is the f497w, which is imported.I bought two medium hoodies. A blue f497 made in America that I got from Nayked Apparel. It fits true to size (maybe even a bit small) and I gave that one 4 stars.I also got a red imported f497w from Basic & Co. This one was okay but the size seemed to be one larger than it said. So a medium fit more like a large. It was very baggy. I gave that one 2 stars and returned it.Unfortunately it doesn't say which one you're getting when you order, which is probably why the reviews are so mixed. Hopefully you get the American made one if you order.

I ordered a medium in black. I am 5’5” 140lbs.Since American Apparel was sold, the clothing is no longer made in the USA. Only one item WAS still made in the USA after the sale, the classic hoodie, and for about $20 more. Now that American Apparel has partnered with Amazon recently, there is no more USA version on the AA website. That said, I did not know this when I purchased the black hoodie here on Amazon. I got the non-USA version. Quality is COMPLETELY different. The outside of the hoodie was soft upon first touch, but within a week of wear it started showing signs of pilling. Never experienced this with AA hoodies prior. Next, the inside of the hoodie was also soft at first touch but within a week also was pilling, and after a couple months the inside was covered in pilling. Again, haven’t experienced this with AA hoodies in the past. The kicker for me is the hideous, obnoxious, and awkward cone shaped hood and overall uncomplimentary shape. I do have a pilling remover and will continue to use it on the outside of the hoodie, but the inside is just too overwhelming and gets out of control too quickly to stay on top of. Stitching is subpar and hoodie strings seem to be shorter, not the original AA quality. I believe that AA used to produce superior casual clothing, but unfortunately now they are cheaply made, uncomplimentary, and overpriced for their sub par quality. Will not be buying again and cannot recommend this product to others.

I'm thrilled!! Unexpected 2 day shipping and a perfect fit, love it. I'm 5 foot 4 and 115 pounds, normally a size 2/4 or small shirt in women's clothing. I got an extra small because I like a tight fit. The sleeves are long enough to pull over my hands if I want, but it doesn't look at all unnatural to wear it at wrist length :) the hood is snug on the crown of the head but nice and wide on either side of the neck - perfect hood in my opinion. For $30 shipped in 2 days I can't find a better sweater

These new hoodies from “American Apparel” suck compared to the original ones. The hoods are huge now, floppy when down and when up they come to a ridiculous point like...well...like a stupid white hood if you catch my drift. Makes you look like an idiot. I ordered 4 of these things and all 4 have different zipper styles. “Some” came with the draw strings already tied in a knot as you’d do when washing. Once untied they remain curled up...no matter what. Never to return straight again. 2 of the hoodies have really long draw strings and the other 2 have shorter draw strings like the original American Apparel hoodies. The fabric feels the same as the old fabric to the touch but its definitely thinner.This really sucks as the original American Apparel hoodies were great. They fit your body well. These seem baggy and cheap. If you liked the old ones I don’t recommend these....at all. I don’t know what a better alternative is but I need to find one fast as fall is here.

This feels like a small even though it says XL

This is my second AA hoodie. The first one I got in an actual store and this one I got on Amazon with a gift card. These are basically half off in price so I couldn't resist, since I love these hoodies so much. I see other reviews stating disappointment in authenticity but I received a real AA hoodie in the color Truffle. When I received it in the mail, it came in the original plastic packaging, never opened or tampered.I'm 5'3" and 107 lbs and wear a size XS. It fits perfectly all over. Sleeve length, bottom length and width, all of it. I've ranged between 105 and 115 lbs and the XS fit me at any of these weights.Now, in terms of the product itself, here's why I prefer this one over others. Places like H&M sell similar looking hoodies with the white zipper and plain design, but the fit and feel of the material is different. I own one from H&M and it's quite snug and less warm and fuzzy. They are cheaper though, which is why you're paying more for the quality of AA ones. I love wearing flannels and have no problem layering a flannel under the AA hoodie without it feeling too tight or awkward, and the hoodie isn't baggy without any long sleeve underneath. They have the arm width just right. The one from H&M, however, is too snug to wear anything under, but going up a size is too baggy.These hoodies last a long time and stay very warm. There's a fuzzy warmth to them that I don't really get from ordinary hoodies. I don't find that they pill too much after washes and wears, but it's unrealistic to say that they don't pill at all. I have tiny baby wrists and the wrists fit just fine and the sleeves don't go past my wrists to my hand. I can wear this hoodie zipped up or unzipped. I will continue getting more colors because I live in hoodies and these are just so comfortable.

The quality

The only time I didnt have an issue is the first time I bought a sweater from this seller. Every other time since, I have had issues. Which sucks because I've waited SO LONG for each sweater. I'll be looking elsewhere for these sweaters.

I bought this hoodie a few months ago, and I noticed that it has shrunk over the past few months. It has also pilled. I am sure that it would be ok if it was washed on cold in the delicate wash.

This sweater is super cozy but still stylish. It’s loose fitting but not super saggy. I have chronic health issues that leave me feeling quite sick a lot, and this sweater has quickly become kind of a security blanket to me - incredibly comfortable but I can still wear it out anyway and not feel like a slob

Really well made, very comfortable, looks and fits great! i actually bought a second one for when this one gets old!
