There were more instances of not being able to make out a plate than when you could. One thing you should know, with any other model, attaching a rear camera reduces the resolution of the front camera. Or the rear camera is so low you can’t make out anything. With this camera you can have 4K and 1080P on the rear. Instructions are not completely clear on the settings for auto off if you hard wire, but trial and error works out. Night vision is better than any other. If you are looking at the range and trying to decide, there is a price gap to this camera. Is it worth it, no, but do you need the extra and better features, if you are looking at the range then yes rather than just sticking a camera in your car to tick a box.
