BARSKA 1200 Lumen High Power Tactical Flashlight

I bought my husband a Barska FLX 1200 flashlight for Christmas. He has used it very little and it has stopped working several times. It now doesnt work at all. The batteries are fully charged. The literature that comes with this flashlight says that it can overheat with extended use. My husband would use it less than 15 minutes and it would simply quit working. Once it stranded him in the dark when he was in the woods hunting. To get warranty on this product, the company wants you to send them $25.00 for S&H and conducting an inspection. Not a very good warranty for a product that costs more than a hundred bucks. I will probably chuck this light in the recycling bin in lieu of shelling out $25.00 bucks on top of the $100 plus I already have invested.

I was excited to receive this - the reviews I read (not on Amazon) looked solid. Looked like what I wanted. Yesterday, it arrived. As soon as I opened it up - something was wrong. The very nice storage box didn't look exactly right. Then I noticed that one of the two (very expensive) rechargeable batteries was missing. This was a return that had be re-gifted to me!I went to Amazon to look at what I purchased to be sure that batteries were to be included - they were. It was then I saw a laundry list of negative reviews from police officers and other professionals who would use this type of light. The shear amount of failures by this light was nothing short of scary.My take on it was - if they sent me this flashlight without a basic quality control check - what happens when I need customer support when it fails? My experience is that if a relationship starts out badly - it rarely gets better. I sent it back within hours and thank you Amazon for immediately refunding my money.I promptly ordered a competitive flashlight that gets high marks from law enforcement.You have been warned.

Flashlight would shut off after a few minutes, only owned it for a week of so and completely won't work at all.I have two sets of batteries and have tried both full charged and nothing.I've owned a few of these flashlights in the past but never again. To unreliable.Update. After two weeks of trying to get customer service to help me out they send me an email with a RA #. I have to pay for shipping and there is a $25.00 warranty fee! This is a brand new flashlight, has never worked correctly and now it's not worth the money I spent on it.Do yourself a favor and never by a this flashlight!!!

I do not have any way to measure lumens, but this flashlight is crazy bright. The only criticism I have is that the button on the back makes it a little challenging to switch between modes. To turn the flashlight on you push the button in fully until it clicks (it is a click-on click-off type switch). But to change modes you have to press it gently so that the flashlight turns off for a moment and then you can select low/medium/bright/strobe/SOS modes in that order. It takes focus and practice to press that button just enough to select the mode without accidentally turning it off. it would make a lot more sense if the mode button was up near the front. If I was in a situation where I needed to activate the strobe mode in a hurry in a tense situation, I would be fumbling around for a while trying to get it right.Also, for what it's worth, I found the SOS mode to be painfully slow. Anyone conversant in Morse Code should be able to read --- ... --- very quickly, and this is so slow it must take 30 seconds to send the entire code by which time the rescue plane has flown over and gone!

The light was amazing at first. It worked great and was super bright. BUT I dropped it one day from waist high and it stopped working. I can't figure out what happened but it seems a lot of the negative reviews on here are very similar to mine. I absolutely would NOT recommend you buy this product! The first time you drop it, it won't work anymore.

Sure this light is bright, but it is not suitable for law enforcement. I got this light about 2 months ago and was very careful with it. On a traffic stop last night, I dropped the light for the first time. It fell on the pavement as I was getting out of the car. The fall was from less than 2 feet. When I picked up the light it was dead.I contacted Barska for help and about the warranty...since the light is advertised as being"Designed for military and law enforcement this flashlight is designed to be shockproof and able to with stand use as a tactical defense too"I figured the warranty would cover damage that was intentional. I was told by Barska that the "warranty" doesn't cover damage caused by the consumer and then I was told my option was to buy a new light.This light is garbage, it's as "shock proof" as a beer bottle. I wouldn't recommend this light to anyone.

Very bright for the price. Use Nitecore batteries. Remember, you get what you pay for. -Kyle

Very bright, can get quite warm if used for an extended amount of time which shuts it off if it gets too hot.
