Review: Great improvement to sound depth and quality of vinyl output - Having recently setup a Pro-Ject T1 SB turntable to go alongside some of my Sonos speakers, which includes an in-built pre-amp, I noticed a lack of depth to the sound output and in particular, a lack of volume available through the speakers. Having done some research on external 3rd party MM preamps, including Pro-Ject's own products, I found some good reviews of the Fosi Audio X2 Phono Preamp, so ordered it yesterday and it arrived by 10:00 this morning (desertcart at their finest! lol). Anyway, it was completely straight forward to setup using my existing phono cables between the turntable and the preamp, plus a new set from the preamp to the speaker, which I bought separately to ensure I had good quality cables with gold-plated contacts. The sound improvement is fantastic, with each of the three gain settings making a noticeable difference to the depth and quality of the output from the vinyl. I may look into different valves in future, to see how they further affect and/or improve the sound of the music, as suggested in some of the other product reviews on here, however my immediate feedback on this products is that it has been a great buy.

Anyone who is upgrading from the built in phono stage in there amp is going to be in for a real treat. The soundstage alone is impressive but that extra detail topped off with that lovely warm tone of the valves this little phono stage is made to impress 10/10

**Q: I can connect my headphone but i can’t control the volume. Is it normal ?**
A: Yes, it’s only meant to be a connection between amps. I use the headphone output to my Mackie Big Knob volume controller.

A: Theres no volume control on the Boxx1 unfortunately

**Q: Can I plug my audio technia atlp. 60x into this preamp as a better choice than the onboard preamp.then plug into my onkyo home cinema receiver?**
A: Depends if the receiver has the option of by-passing the onboard preamp with separate inputs

**Q: I have a fosi x2 and a douk st-01. i need a headphone socket. can i add an x1 before the x2 ? or between the x2 and st-01 or should i use y cables?**
A: Hello.
You don't need to add an X1 before X2, you can connect the audio source to the 3.5mm aux input of the BOX X2 and the rca output of the BOX X2 to the rca input of the st-01, you need an rca to rca cable for this connection. Thank you for your support!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic value for money

I have a main valve amplifier and needed a phono pre amp to boost signal from an inherited turntable with MM cartridge. Read reviews and got the fosi audio box x2. Being so relatively cheap I thought it would just ok. How wrong i was it's fantastic. Just on the first gain setting is enough for my main amp and tha output is beautiful. I am not a audiophile but I think 10 out of 10 for what I required.
