SATA25-Piece 1/4-Inch Drive 6-Point Standard and Deep Socket Set with 60 Tooth Round Head Ratchet, SAE - ST09098SJ

At the price of ~$20, I have to give it five stars. Finding an SAE set is hard to begin with and this is perfect for working on an old garden tractor or something SAE only.As far as issues, the ratchet, while smooth and 60 teeth, has fairly significant wobble in the anvil. It is a quick release ratchet (you push in on the selector to release the socket). That is unusual for a round head ratchet. The breaker bar has a head with a detent in the bottom for an indexing ball, but the handle has no ball so it does not index. The finish on everything is good enough, but far from great. The case has no handle and is of basic level quality.The plus sides, beyond the price, are that the extensions are wobble plus (all the way in they are straight, but pull out a bit) and it has two extensions and a breaker bar along with the ratchet. Short of deep sockets (pun intended) it has what you need to do basic SAE socket work.

I own numerous SATA tool sets and have always been impressed. I opened this set last week, two weeks after the return window closed (bought set to keep in a car and didn’t have a reason to open before) only to discover that the ratchet is trash - skips more than it catches and is rough as can be. Amazon won’t accept it as a return due to window closing. SATA won’t respond to warranty requests. Buyer beware. I hope this unresponsive warranty behavior is not par for the course with the other SATA sets I’ve bought…I’ve been the pied piper of SATA up to this point. Yikes.

Great quality set. Just proves brand names vs. not brand names means nothing. I have a scooter and the set is perfect and fits in the small "saddlebag."
