Do you think the heat will melt it or destroy the plastic** A: it is fine in the heat, but it grows green algae in a week...you have to really get in it and scrub it out regularly...but I only see chickadees landing on it, no other birds do...I have other birdbaths around my yard that they go to...i don't think i will hang it up next next year...I think another feeder it it's place would be better...Personnally, I would tell you to skip this one and buy a hanging birdbath, they will like that so much better... **Q: I can't put screws in our balcony walls so can't hang something - would this work if I set it on the floor of the balcony?
