Rivco Goldwing armrests - 2010 GL1800HPNM
Researched these and got approval from my passenger. Installation took about 45 minutes from unpacking the box to throwing the box away. I was familiar with taking the seat back off so that went quickly. Did some "fine-tuning" of the bend in the arm that is hidden behind the seat. There is a cutout there, so it can be done without putting the parts in a vise. Held it firmly in place and marked the top hole first. Loosely attached the top and used it help hold in place for the second hole marking. In general, it seems a little loose side-to-side, but my wife said they felt steady for her to rest her arms on. Three hour trip and the only complaint was that vinyl, no matter how good the quality, does not breath. May need to invest in some covers for the warmer days (it was 103F that day). There is some extra gap between the passenger seat and trunk lid, but more at the sides. Not excessive or unsightly in my opinion. Will give it a season and check the attachment integrity.UPDATE: After three summers of riding, they are still in good shape. Chrome has not pitted or chipped. As some reviewers stated, they are heavy and since attached to the trunk lid, would probably cause problems if you regularly let the trunk flop open. We also have a rack on top of the trunk, so are very careful with all the extra weight. If you position the arms somewhere in the middle of the range, they will rest on the handles beside the seat and provide some additional support for the trunk hinges and supports. After changing the passenger seatback out to an Ultimate brand, the gap was very noticeable between the trunk and seatback. Ultimate provides a foam filler piece, but I used a black silicone tube and filled in the gap. The armrests give my wife such a sense of security that she has told me (after the fact) that she has slept for as much as 20 miles on curvy Interstate at speeds well over the limit. I don't know if that is good or not! They are not perfect. With no one in the passenger seat, they will rattle back and forth over bumps. You can flip them up (looks funny) or put a soft bungee between them to hold a little tension.

I really liked the fact these would somewhat hold a passenger over ...
I really liked the fact these would somewhat hold a passenger over the swing out type. Got them installed this weekend, I modified the mounting a bit as the original mount was a compression type fitting which caused the mount arms to stick out about a 1/4" from the mount arm and the trunk which caused the seat back to have a gap at the trunk and I didn't think it looked very good. Used regular nuts and washer to get a tighter fit in the trunk and took the rear speakers out to access the mount point there. Still went ahead and mounted some bolts in the seat back and drilled through the trunk so I could pull the seat mount flush with the trunk. Now the seat is flush with the trunk again and I am very happy with the install.

love them.
I have seen different styles of the armrest but decided that this was the one that would work best for me. I have used the item for several weeks now and I beleive that work great. I am a member of a motortrike group and all brands seem to pit and rust after a while so I assume that they will to in time. Seems to be the nature of the beast, unfortunately for the money that is paid for them you would think that they would be cheeper of made of a better quality.

Rivco armrests on 2012 GL1800
I was happy to see the quality of these armrests and even happier to find out how easy they were to install. They only took about 40 minutes to install and the only tools needed are a phillips driver, a 1/2" dia drill bit and an allen wrench. The best thing I like about them is I dont have to move them in order to get into the trunk. The boss tried them out and she is thrilled. I installed the cup holder I ordered and now she's ready for the long haul.

Great product
A perfect addition to our Goldwing. Arms swivel up and down, making the trunk easy to open, and the passenger getting on. We would highly recommend these over the swing out type. They look classier too. Very comfortable!

Really nice..
Really nice... Expensive, but really well made. Install took me about 15-20 minutes. Was a little afraid of drilling into my Goldwing, but the end result is perfect!
