There are a number of pendulum settings, depending on the material you are cutting. I was just cutting a curve in wood, so the first setting was appropriate. No power saw is quiet, but with decent blades this saw cuts quickly, so the noise is short lived - I always use hearing protection. The saw comes with an adaptor to connect to a vacuum cleaner, to actively draw away the sawdust. The adaptor is 32mm, specific to Einhell vacuums, but adaptors to step to other diameters are easily obtained. A general purpose wood saw is also included.
