An opponent would hear the rattling and be stunned into silence from the resemblence to rattling bones. But really, I've never had mine rattle. I've even hit the wooden dowel rod a couple times and still no problem. Try some locktite around the guard. **Q: Is this a real cold steel product?** A: To my knowledge, this is a real cold steel sword. Having said that, this sword falls in a niche.
