It just has a tension cord to hold it together, so it can be torn down very quickly. I am 6 feet tall and it has a good bit of room for adjustment, both taller and shorter. I also own the Kmina carbon fiber crutches, and have graduated to this cane. I actually prefer the grip on the cane over the crutches. The grip on the cane handles wet or sweaty hands better than the crutches. It also looks pretty nice. Doesn’t have a medical look. I am 30 and it doesn’t look out of place with my wardrobe compared to a lot of other canes.
