The lasted about 5 years but the downside was they pumped almost continuously. That was costly for power usage. This pump seems much more heavy duty and pumps at a much lower rate. The float is positioned at a better level. Prior Wayne units did not permit pump positioning. This pump is also very quiet and manages heavy loads quite well. I always have a standby replacement just in case. Install was simple.
