GPX BCA209S Portable Am/FM Boombox with CD and Cassette Player, Silver/Gray

Wonderful little unit for the price, sounds great!

This unit is fine for a small, low priced combo box. The biggest drawback is that there is no display for the radio tuner. You have no idea when playing the radio if you are on AM or FM or what channel you are receiving. Very disappointing. As noted in other reviews the buttons for control of the tape deck and CD player are in awkward positions. Tape player controls are on top which is where the CD player is; CD controls are on the front which is where the tape deck is located.

This boombox is great for playing CDs and cassettes. The radio works well. It is worth the price.

Compact, lightweight. But,: the cassette/tape player didn’t work, couldn’t get the tape door to open - had to gently pry it and didn’t respond to any of the cassette function buttons. The on/off/function switch is very small and hard to read. Don’t waste your money

Well, let me get to the good points, first.1. it plays music2. For the size, the sound is present. The quality of that sound is at level about 6 out of 103. CD player worksNow let's tackle the other side of the spectrum1. The tapes work at their own schedule, maybe 2 out of 52. The radio has a dial, but there's no way of knowing where on the scale you are considering the station, because there is no visual when turning the dial. It just doesn't exist. (The designer must have had a rough night while designing this devise, to skip such an important component)3. It's not a sturdy as it looks. So set it on a shelf somewhere, and never ever move it from its placeOverall, if you want an affordable CD player with an ok sound, then this bargain is for you!

We still have cassette tapes which makes it problematic in finding a boom device. This had all three options.

The item arrived in 4 days in a very good package. I like its compact size. The sound quality is good for its size. If you need a machine to play some cassettes or CDs from your childhood and you want to play them as a background music, which of course doesn't need to be loud, while you are cooking in your kitchen, or doing some reading at your desk or in a bed, this is what you need. Now I just want to see how long it will last. My previous cassette/CD combo player lasted 20 years and the spring of its supply reel eventually popped up and so it couldn't play a cassette any more.

Funciona bien. La calidad de audio no es mala de acuerdo al costo del dispositivo. Realmente es muy simple de operar. Me hubiera gustado que mostrara la frecuencia de la estación en la pantalla LCD qué tiene. Me parece que solo se activa durante la reproducción de CDs.

It has already stopped working. I can’t get the connection to the supplier for its repair yet. I was given email by Amazon to sent the issue to the supplier. I sent a email but the supplier blocked it. No one should buy this product. The product got spoiled 4 months after I bought it.

This product should NOT be sold in the U.K. it does not meet any British usage at all.

This is a decent unit. I bought it for my elderly Mom since she is used to tapes. Her only complaint was it didn’t have a jack for headphones and she couldn’t see the writing on the buttons very well. Other than that it works great.
