With their flat shape, veggies and meats do not spin like round skewers permit. And the little handle makes them so easy to flip. Will buy more when I run out. One note, best when used with smaller portable type grills, preferably charcoal, so the handles are not over the heat. The paddle at the end was big enough to hot glue some decorations on them that matched the theme. After threading cheese and small tomatoes on them, I inserted the pick into foam cut to size of a platter. Handy for appetizers and easy to use. Would definitely recommend them for parties. They looked very raw as the bamboo that you see in the garden. No chemical smell either. Soaked them in water for three hours before putting the chicken on. Grilled the chicken around three minutes per side and the skewer paddles were on the grill as well. Majority of them were not burnt at all. The burnt paddles only had small partial burn like 8mm in size.
