Review: Old illustrations on inside - We love the Arthur books but much prefer the newer illustrations. Won’t be giving this one to our child since Arthur really does not look like Arthur. ## Features - Little Brown Books for Young Readers ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 139 Reviews | ## Images ![ARTHUR'S EYES - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81gBUnRNXLL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Old illustrations on inside *by D***A on 10 October 2023* We love the Arthur books but much prefer the newer illustrations. The story is about Arthur, who goes to the eye doctor and finds that he needs glasses. He wears the glasses to school and his friends tease him about the glasses and make him feel self-conscious, so he tries to lose the glasses. All sorts of problems occur, including that he accidentally goes in the girl's bathroom which is a funny part to the kids, because he can't see. In the end, his teacher shows him that he has glasses also for reading and that they are cool to wear. What I love most about the book is that it teaches kids in a way that they understand that it is ok to be different and that you should feel good about the differences you have because they make you unique. This is in fact, the reason that I read the story to my class because of issues we had with teasing and I found that it really helped them view people's differences in a better way. The story was perfect length to hold their attention and has a great moral that is relateable. One thing to be aware of though is that although the book cover shows Arthur as he is today, the artwork on the inside is the "classic Arthur" artwork of the late 70s/early 80s and he looks more like an aardvark and very different from now. The colors are also not as vibrant as the later Arthur books. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fi/products/302618597-arthurs-eyes](https://www.desertcart.fi/products/302618597-arthurs-eyes) --- *Product available on Desertcart Finland* *Store origin: FI* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
