A Real Eye-opener!
This short read is a brief but poignant look into the tour of an Army medic in Vietnam. Everything is exposed - the good and the bad. Deep friendships, the trust among soldiers to watch your back as you protect theirs, in addition to the horrors of that war like incompetent leadership, being under fire, poor food, unbelievably long hours, and more. The author says that this book is just part one. I'm looking forward to his next book, but this one will give you much to contemplate while you wait for his next one. Recommended, especially as a first-hand account for scholars of this period.

True story of courage.
The story is spellbinding. I look forward to the next 2 books in the trilogy. That’s the plus side for 4 stars.I however had to decrease the Star by one. I’m not sure who typed or proofread the book. I hope the next books show better. The story needs to be told well, it’s that important!.

Gripping tale of a combat medic in Vietnam
This gritty, realistic tale of Vietnam was written by a combat medic. Doc Sorrento was a true hero to the men of Charlie 1/22, 4th Infantry Division. I served with Doc and will never forget him and the dedication he displayed every day to all of us. Thanks Doc for the bravery it took to share all of your experiences with the world.

Remarkable story from a remarkable man
I served in Vietnam with Ron "Doc" Sorrento. As our Platoon Medic he took care of us out in the jungle and rushed out immediately to give aid to anyone who was hit. This book brought back memories of people and events of Charlie Company 3rd Platoon Sidewinders. Looking forward to more volumes in the series.
