Suppose the prior tenants introduced bed bugs via their mattresses? That would be my problem, not the property owners, under the terms of my lease. Although the magnitude of the risk might be low, the consequences would be terrible, and it would be entirely my problem to solve, under the terms of my lease. So if it turned out there were bud bugs left from a prior tenant, these products would at least ensure that the bugs would not be able to take up residence in my high quality mattress and box springs.
