Just drank my first brew this AM. I have been using a cold brew coffee bag (available on Amazon) that worked but required more clean up. I used the hemp bag in a 2 quart pitcher. The Hand Built is 1 quart. It is very efficient, simple and easy to use and clean up afterwards. My coffee cups are 14 oz. This morning I heated one cup and saved the remainder for later.I don't like diluting my coffee; I know is the technical difference between Expresso and Americano but it doesn't appeal to me.I used 1/4 cup of grinds and filled the jar with water. I like my coffee fairly strong. The recipe included recommended 1 cup to 3 cups water! That would result in Expresso strength (IMHO) or to my taste.I have been using an Aero Press which Wired Mag. described as being the least fussy way to make fussy coffee; but I think the Hand Built jar is even less fussy and it takes coffee making to the "cold brew" level.I heat one cup on the stove (not microwave) and can either drink the remainder later cold or heat.Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! (5)update: I have switched back and forth between drip, Aero Press and Hand Built Cold brew over the last few months AND the Cold Brew has more flavor and is smoother. I put away the Aero Press and donated the Drip machine.

Tasty coffee from such an easy to use kit.
So Simple and such a great idea! The Hand Built Coffee cold brew kit arrived in excellent condition, ready to use. I really appreciated the e-mail that preceded it with information (via a link to two useful PDFs) about how to use the kit and a bunch of different recipes that I'm ready to try out. I love that the Bulletproof coffee recipe was included. I've been trying to perfect that for a while now.

Great simple design
Great simple design. Uses a standard mason jar so all you really need is the screen filter insert. We have two mason jars or cold brew going at all times so we technically never run out. I get coarse ground beans and have only very slight amount of grounds seep into the coffee but haven't noticed anything in the flavor or consistency that makes me dislike this product

don't buy it.
you get a mason jar with a filter in it - that is about 10 times the cost of buying this at a store - and you have no instructions nor do you have a recipe to tell you the ratio on making the coffee. A total rip off

This is the first review I have ever written, but I love this system. Super easy to make and clean. i make it before I go to bed, and my coffee is ready in the morning.
