The band can be adjusted for a small three year old. If you need a tighter band you can punch another hole into the band, there's room for one more.The watch is labeled as waterproof but is really only water resistant. No fiddling with the battery.If you want to teach telling time, there are better watches to choose. I like watches that have the minutes, 0 - 59, displayed on the outer edge of the watch face. This watch does not have a second hand, it has a second disk that spins a flower/butterfly.The watch is packaged flat in a plastic cradle slid into a cardboard box and shipped in a padded envelope.I also bought a watch from the seller WUTAN. That watch was packaged identically to this watch from ATIMO. Both watches have Jnew on the watch face and watch back.
