NOTE : This active balancer is not a BMS protection board, so no matter how bad the battery you use to test, it can be used, But it has no functions such as over-voltage, under-voltage, or over-current. I had a very unbalanced 12 Volt (3 series) Li-Ion battery pack and it gradually brought all 3 cells to the exact same voltage (within a couple miliVolts of each other). What I really like is that it balances the cells regardless of their voltage or state of charge (unlike the passive resistor cell balancers which only work when the cells reach 4.2 Volts). This is my favorite feature since I only charge my cells to 4.0 Volts (approximately 80% state of charge for long term life). I performed a very careful measurement of the quiescent current and it is less than 10 mA (so no problem for my setup to leave it running continuously).
