## Overview

Salifert Flatworm eXit is a powerful liquid treatment designed to eradicate flatworms quickly and safely in reef aquariums up to 300 gallons. It activates within 30 minutes and works best when applied in high flow areas to flush out hidden pests. Safe for all reef inhabitants, it requires careful post-treatment siphoning and carbon filtration to neutralize toxins released by flatworms, ensuring a healthy, vibrant aquatic environment.

## Description

Flatworms can be toxic to reef life if they are allowed to flourish in an aquarium. Once established, they can reproduce quickly and will hide in any crack or crevice that they can find. In order to make sure the solution can work effectively use a power head or other device to flush them out of the hiding places, after which it is recommended to siphon out as many as possible. Flatworm Exit is harmless to all reef organisms, but extreme care must be taken when using this product because of the flatworm's toxic body juice. If the toxic body juice is left unchecked in the aquarium the possible loss of aquatic inhabitants is likely. To prevent this from happening siphon out as many flatworms as possible before treating the tank. After the treatment has been added to the aquarium siphoning as many dead ones as possible will further limit the problems that could arise. Once the siphoning is finished add approximately 1 pound of fresh high quality carbon for every 50 gallons to remove any remaining amounts of toxic juices. It is also wise to have water ready to do a 25% water change if required.

Review: Flatworm exit works - The stuff worked amazingly and quickly was able to follow instructions easily enough. Everything survived in my tank would recommend easy enough to take care of. I attached a small quarter inch tube to a long scraping handle and it was simple enough to suck them out quickly. Now I do a pre-dip with that every time I put new things in with coral. Would recommend.
Review: Works awesome - Works pretty great! Follow directions! No issues with it, very effective

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i use this product in freshwater tank?**
A: I had no luck with this in fresh water. Used double the dosage and it completely failed to kill the planaria. A small minority dropped off but most just went on unphased.
On the bright side snails also seemed fine.

**Q: Hi, do you ship to the UK, regards john**
A: Hello, I am sorry we do not ship to the UK.

**Q: How toxic is the flatworm's juice to fish? I have some sensitive fish including moorish idol. Should I be worried about them when using the Exit?**
A: Yes, you should be worried. You cannot know how many worms there are. If you see a lot, imagine 5-10x more in hiding. I lost shrimp, snails, urchins, and fish aren’t well.

**Q: Does this product actually kill the worms or just flush them out of hiding?**
A: Yes it kills the worms. Please follow the directions if you purchase it from us at Aquarium Specialty. Thank you, Scott

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This product will eliminate red planaria
*by J***0 on January 29, 2020*

The product has two modes. The first consists of a brute force attack. First, remove as many planaria by netting and siphoning. Next, remove all corals, fish and invertebrates. If you can put smaller pieces of live rock in a suitable container, then treat them separately by dipping in FE dosed water. Add the first dose to your tank. The planaria will start dying immediately, so try netting out as many as possible. The red planaria release a toxin when they die, so it's important to keep your protein skimmer running and have activated carbon available. If some planaria are still attached after 30 minutes, do a second dose. Wait as long as practicable to add back your fish and corals. If you can still smell the telltale awful dead planaria odor, it's too soon. The second mode is maintenance. Don't assume that the brute force method kills every last red worm. Keep watching over the next few weeks for small numbers of planaria. Then dose at the same rate, but do not remove any fish or corals, as the levels of toxin released are harmless. Sometimes a second maintenance dose is needed in a month or so.
