I understand why some might have been frustrated with the rubber gasket, which is slightly smaller than the frame: however I personally think this was a positive thing. TIP: a little bit of SuperGlue on the corners was enough to secure it firmly in place. Then you can easily snug it up tight against the wall for a tight seal. The Flapper on mine fit well and moved freely; and when held off-axis slightly you could see it seal nicely - the gasket is a bonus here, to dampen any banging! When mounted however it did hang ever so slightly open - this is more a factor of the wall's true verticality though. Perhaps a suggestion for the manufacturer is to recognize that many will have this issue - if it was designed with a built-in internal angle of only a few degrees it would solve this without any negative impact on the functionality. The only other thing I found was the mounting screws were too short for me - Mine had to go through the Dryvit Stucco into the plywood sheathing, so with the thickness of the vent itself (which is nearly an inch) I needed 2-1/2" screws. It would be a bonus if the manufacturer could supply a few different lengths to accommodate different wall thicknesses. Very pleased though, an incredible value I would say. These has thick collars with built in tabs to hold 6" extension & 4" reducer piece, rubber seals tricky but with stainless screws final install very nice look. Love the quality stainless look and finish of these vents.
