On the MPPT side of things, I checked it after a day of operation and it seems to keep the 18650 batteries (wired in parallel) close to 4.2v using a small 5w pannel. On the output power side of things, the regulated 5v measures at 5.11v (on both output USB and pins) and didn't dip while under test, so it seems to keep up with power demand just fine. I was not able to detect any noise on the 5v output using my Xminilab oscilloscope, but I put a 1F capacitor on it anyway to reduce the possibility of signal interference. When I first plugged in the battery, I noticed that it powered on by itself (desirable for this use case). When I later unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, I had to press the "boot" button get the output going again. I hope this is not a button I have to press in the scenario where the batteries fully discharge and charge up again. Time will tell. I didn't put on my unit and it is working fine. **Q: what is the minimum voltage from solar panel needed? my location is partialy shaded so I get 5.5 in direct sunlight in morning and 3.5 in afternoon** A: The minimum voltage required from the solar panel is 4.4-6V. In your case, you could connect a 3.7V Lipo battery at the BAT IN side. When the sunlight is not strong, the device can be powered by the lithium battery. When the sunlight is intense, the solar panel can power the device and also charge the lithium battery. **Q: Open circuit voltage is 7.2V operating is 6 volts on my solar panels will this work with solar power manager 5 volt 6 volts max** A: I had a little trouble with one of mine that had open circuit voltage above 6v.
