One change has been made is these used to come in a metal tin which was easily recycled or I personally would keep for storing other things. Now it comes in a truly ghastly plastic container that will spend the next 100 years in a land fill. There is nothing about the plastic container to make me want to reuse it. It will go in the recycling but as plastic can only be recycled a handful of times so it is simply delaying the eventual land fill plastic mountain.
