Because I stay in a 230V AC country, this device supplies my American and Japanese equipment that works with 115 AC. It is a real transformer with sinusoidal waveform. It should work fine in 220-240V countries to down convert to 110 - 120V I am confident there is no danger of damaging my equipment. I got the 500W model and that is good for devices consuming 1W - 400W in total.
