Not to be confused with a voltage sensor, which detects voltage present in a circuit. The continuity tested must be only used with a non energized circuit. **Q: Is the bulb LED or incandescent?** A: To Access battery/bulb compartment unscrew the tip on corded end **Q: Will this damage ICs like SMD ICs or through hole ones?** A: Good day Alain. to answer your question. No, I would not recommend this device for IC's SMD. Please enjoy your day. **Q: Does this have any cover or protection for the sharp tip?** A: Yes, it does. It has a clear plastic sleeve that covers the probe. The probe's tip is not pointed like an awl. Instead it's a conical point with concentric rings around it designed, I presume, to prevent injury to the user. ## Frequently Bought Together - Gardner Bender Sperry Instruments CT6101 Heavy Duty Continuity Tester, 2 Range, 36 inch lead, Yellow - AstroAI Digital Multimeter Tester 2000 Counts with DC AC Voltmeter and Ohm Volt Amp Meter; Measures Voltage, Current, Resistance, Continuity and Diode, Blue - Test Light Automotive, 6V-12V-24V Circuit Tester with Light for Continuity Voltage Electrical Fuse Tester, Car Electric Tester Pen ABS Handle with Sharp Probe&Alligator Clip for Sedan, SUV, RV, Truck --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fi/products/387230806-sperry-ct6101-continuity-tester-1-card-5-cards-master](https://www.desertcart.fi/products/387230806-sperry-ct6101-continuity-tester-1-card-5-cards-master) --- *Product available on Desertcart Finland* *Store origin: FI* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
