It does work, w/ limitations
It works. Doesn't seem to be made very sturdy, so I can't use it for my big dogs (long thick hair-but if you have a short hair big dog it should be ok). Decided it was only good for my little maltese guy since I keep his hair short except ears & tail. It did kill a flea I caught & touched it to the comb prongs for a trial zap. It did not just knock it out so the flea could rebound & hop away later. It stayed dead! I also zapped myself & never felt a thing. It buzzes & you can tell when it is zapping something because the sound changes. Just stop til it goes back to it's normal buzz to give it time to finish off whatever it's zapping, then continue on combing. You have to comb slowly & gently (this is why short hair is best) & not be too forceful pushing it thru thick or heavy coats or it will break. It will not comb thru even the smallest loosest matt. But for keeping fleas off my clipped maltese or mini-doxy, it's just fine & I love not having to put pesticides on them or give them chemical flea pills.

Doesnt kill fleas but...
I honestly don't see any type of improvement with my cats fleas. I gave the comb 3 stars since my cat seems to enjoy being combed with this thing. He starts to purr, lay on his back and enjoy every second. He's not normally a brush lover. But somehow this thing makes him submissive and gives us some much needed bonding time.

Returned It
Unfortunately, I received one of the zappers that did not work at all. The power was working but there was no electricity in the prongs to "zap" fleas. I returned it and bought a manual flea comb instead.

Meh...
The electrical current stuns the fleas a little bit, but they still slip right through the comb. You have to be quick to capture them. Not really what I expected.

Great little flea zapper
Seems to work well, but it hadn't had a real test yet. Since we started having rain there are few fleas. It is well made and I expect it to last a long time. Recommend.

Didn't Work
I read other reviews where people said this worked great, but it didn't zap a single flea on our dogs or cats. Maybe their fur was too thick, I don't know. It just didn't work.

could not use, cat runs off
Can wont let me near her with the buzz. Could not use even once on a very calm cat. Might work well on other (deaf?) cats, but I would not know as I could not use it.

Did not work at all. Not a single flea ...
Did not work at all. Not a single flea found or zapped, yet when I comb thru with a lice comb I found plenty.
