Review: It works like a charm! A very worthwhile investment! - I bought this to grate Parmesan cheese (and other cheeses) finely. After overcoming some operator errors, it works really well, with almost-zero mess, unlike the manual countertop cheese grinder I had purchased a few months before which was both clumsy and messy. And let’s not even talk about trying to finely-grind a huge hunk of Parmesan cheese with the box grater and the Kevlar glove! Cheese can seem to be a little stuck while grinding, but I’ve learned to let it run for a few seconds and it will dislodge itself…or it’s very easy to dislodge with a soft push from a kitchen knife. I really like that I can just leave the “attachment housing” on the mixer between uses. And if I also leave in the fine grating cylinder that I use most often (for said cheese), the other parts store in the KA bowl along with my balloon whisk and dough hook! Any bowl can be used to receive the cheese, so those parts just stay in the KA bowl while I grind into another bowl. It’s also very well-designed to help protect against accidental finger injury. The attachment housing hand-washes effortlessly. The slicing cylinders are easy to pre-clean by using a brush to remove cheese, and then go into the dishwasher. I’m very happy that I splurged to buy this attachment! Review: A must have! - This attachment has been such a game changer in my kitchen. It attaches to my KitchenAid mixer in seconds and works incredibly smoothly. I love how quickly it shreds cheese; no more sore arms from hand grating! It also slices vegetables evenly and consistently, which makes meal prep so much faster. The three different blades are perfect for a variety of tasks. I’ve used it for shredding cheese, slicing cucumbers and zucchini, and even prepping potatoes. It saves so much time, especially when cooking larger meals. If you already own a KitchenAid stand mixer, this attachment is 100% worth adding to your collection. It makes everyday cooking easier and more efficient! ## Features - Genuine KitchenAid Stand Mixer Attachment - Designed and engineered by the manufacturers of the KitchenAid Stand Mixer, sold separately - Compatible with any KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Would this work?** A: You have to cut block cheeses into small enough sizes to work. Velveeta cheese doesn't work because of its softness; perhaps I should try freezing it. Currently a zucchini peel is stuck between outer and inner cylinders after I grated zucchini for a cake. I may have to replace the device, but I still don't like how small the feed cylinder is. The old fashioned one broke after 15-20 years but had a much larger feed opening. **Q: Has anybody tried spiralizing vegetables with theirs? I've been eyeing this for awhile, but would love it if it could even sloppily spiralize.** A: NO. the only way to spiral would be if the blade (cutting section) stayed in contact with the vegetable the entire time. there are many blades on each cylinder. these blades break contact with vegetable as cylinder rotates. **Q: Does it grate carrots fine enough for baking cakes?** A: I use it to grate carrots and zucchini for cakes and breads. **Q: Can use to slice sweet potatoes** A: I was able to put half of a sweet potato in and it sliced! I didn't try an entire potato, though, as it didn't look like it would fit. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works like a charm! I wish I would have bought this years ago. I works awesome. I prefer freshly grated cheese over the pregrated cheese that has flour on it. This grates very fast. Since it is made of stainless steel, it cleans pretty easily. It is made of quality materials. There is a small chunk that doesn't get grated, like a small bite size chunk. I usually eat it or offer it as a cheese tax for the cat. I do recommend this product. ## Frequently Bought Together - KitchenAid Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder, 1, White - KitchenAid KSMMGA Metal Food Grinder Attachment, Silver - KitchenAid KSMPRA Stand Mixer Attachment Pasta Roller & Cutter, 3-Piece Set, Stainless Steel --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fi/products/42003654-ksmvsa-fresh-prep-slicer-and-shredder-attachment](https://www.desertcart.fi/products/42003654-ksmvsa-fresh-prep-slicer-and-shredder-attachment) --- *Product available on Desertcart Finland* *Store origin: FI* *Last updated: 2026-10-02*
