DK Provence and the Cote d'Azur (Travel Guide)

I love DK books!
We are planning a trip to the south of France, so I turned to my trusty favorite travel guide, DK. I love this book! It's not huge and heavy, so it won't weight down my suitcase. What I love are all of the color photos, as well as detailed information. The best part are the color coded sections, which make it very easy to locate villages and cities on the maps. Highly recommend this guide!

Disappointed
Was expecting more in depth information on Provence. Will be giving the book away shortly.

Don't Buy this Guide Unless You're Planning to Sleep in Your Car
Eyewitness has always been my go-to guides. Still top-notch unless you are looking for vetted accommodations and restaurants. If you need an all-inclusive guide of Provence, this one is not for you.

Love the Eyewitness Series
I buy these Eyewitness Guides for every country we hope to visit. I bought this one as a Christmas gift for my step daughter in law as a gift. Great to travel with good info and photos make it easier as well

Very nice layout
I really like the layout - more visual than other guides I had looked at. Also contains very good information.

An Up To Date, Well Detailed and at aGood Price.
There are a lot of guides out there. My first advice is to select the most recently published. Many details such as shops, bars and hotels change. This guide was published 18th April 2022 so it is up to date. The better news is that the DK Eyewitness Provence and the Cote d'Azur (Travel Guide) is a well detailed and well priced guide.Well illustrated with great detail and small enough to slip into a pocket or bag.Recommended.

Great content but the book binding so bad it cracks
I buy DK guidbooks since forever. Always happy. To be fair for this destination lonely planet provided more useful info however I always buy both of them since the well complement each other and indeed the section on Gorges du Verdon were terrible in lonely planet and well done in this DK guidebook, so I am glad I got it.The only negative surprise it that when I opened the book it started to crack, I thought they changed the design just to make a change but instead it seems to be a change to cheaper. OId DK guidebooks look well on my shelf while the new one is cracked, needed to glue it to keep it together. Such a shame...

Good detail , reasonable price
Guide books tend to be a very personal choice – It just happens that we like the DK Eyewitness guide for its itineraries, maps, photographs, places to visit, food and wine to try, activities for all and things to see. This guide to Provence and the cote D’Azur is no exception. To date we have visited only a few of the towns – myself whilst working, and when together from cruise ships, so a proper car tour is in order at some time. No guide book is totally inclusive (How did they miss the Cotes du Rousillon wine – for those who might find Chateauneuf du Pape overpriced) and all guide books can only guess at the latest restaurants, hotspots and accommodation. This latest book, however, seemed to give a pretty good starter selection. So many places to see, so little time! There is also a “Top 10 version” to fit in the pocket but this one will do for us on tour and will update later
