Cause that will be the determining answer if not then it will provide some water repellent but you would literally have to use the whole can and also remember that this only last for a couple of washing’s if that since detergent is pretty harsh . So if I was you I would get scotch guard protector that one is made for all fabric and it’s spill resistant to a lot of beverages like wine , soda , fruit punch and so on that would be your best bet and if it’s a jacket even better cause don’t wash that unless it got dirty and this will repel most light dirt cause it actually bonds to even stretch fabric. Hope this helps **Q: what are the ingredients?** A: Water and silica, literally 2 ingredients **Q: can it help protect nubuck from scratches or scuffs?** A: No it can’t , so I bought this for my timberlands put on 4 coats almost the whole bottle so it rained the week I was wearing them they repelled the water and dirt by when I got out of the truck my big ol foot hit the corner or the door and scrape I was mad so I went home and brushed it to get it out and it did come out but still a faint mark so if you buy this use the whole thing on your boots or whatever your putting it in it just might stop a scuff mark , I haven’t found any products that will totally stop scuff marks on suede or nubuck it’s just to soft but this product will repel water and snow and dirt just have to brush it when you put them away ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product *by B***A on January 22, 2020* Worked just as they said it would.
