I use 1 washer and continue to be satisfied with the product. It fell off once in 4 months but I didn't lose it. Also, if you use more than 1 washer there's less thread in contact with the camera's release - the thread is shallow enough as it is, so I wouldn't try it. You might try this tip i received from the seller: use Teflon tape around the thread to give it better a better 'grip'. I'm guessing they mean the the tape used by plumbers to seal a leak inside a leaky tap (available at DIY shops) . In theory , it's a good idea and i can't see a downside so I'll try it (but it might be very fiddly). Feels like it won't easily fall off although time will tell as others have reported they lost their button.
