Although i still use this supplement for my 99 year old mother who gets it pulverized in a vitamin supplement, I had a hard time swallowing the huge pills. It's already 1000 mg. There are some pkgs that come as 500 mg that say take twice a day. It is better to take 500 mg @ am and another 500 mg @ pm. Anything over 500 mg at a time just gets wasted out into your urine, but it's cheaper to buy the 1000 mg and cut it in half. When taking this vitamin I find I never get sick other than that once a year spring into summer season change! Then it's so mild and moves on so quickly in just a couple of days. Hope this helps!
