Use it once a year as rust comes throughWould highly recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective Removal of Rust from Sandstone Patio *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 11 May 2020* I have read some mixed reviews on whether Owatrol works as an effective treatment for rust stains. Having not tried anything other than general patio cleaner, I can't say if there are any other/better treatments out there, but I can say it worked for me. The stain has been on the patio for about a year. I can't comment on how good it may be on its main purpose as a wood cleaner, though.These are the steps that worked for me:1. Lightly water the paving slabs and brush clear any excess water.2. Pour Owatrol neat onto the whole of the rust stain.3. Leave it for at least 10 minutes (don't know if even longer works even better).4. Scrub the affected area (I used a stiff brush) to work on the stain (I didn't need to scrub a great deal).5. Rinse off with plenty of water and brush off any remaining product6. Was a bit sceptical but given the he other comments though I’d give it a try. We had three badly stained areas on our patio caused by rusting plant pots. Followed the instructions - wet the slabs, pour on neat, wait 20 mins, scrub with stiff brush then wash off - all now perfectly clean and no hassle at all.
